Pittsburgh Luxury Wedding Planner | Women’s History Month Celebration

The month of March commemorates women’s groundbreaking contributions to society and culture. Honoring the history of women who have loved hard, worked hard, and broken down barriers, we also celebrate today's women making monumental waves and creating her-story. This month is an annual reminder to champion the power of women's voices and influence as we continue to strive for positive change for all women.

As an all female team, better known as SHE, we embody that spirit of excellence in all that we do. We absolutely love and admire other confident, strong, resilient women pushing beyond limits, achieving great things, and raising the bar. Women are powerful. Women can truly do it all. We are girl's girls at heart; we love sisterhood. Before the world shut down, we used to do a series of women-focused events called 'Things SHE Loves' and later 'EmpowHER Pittsburgh'. One of our goals this year was re-introducing chic experiences that are safe spaces for women to connect, celebrate, educate, and empower each other.

We recently introduced a community titled 'AND SHE GREW' so we can reach, engage, and support like-minded women committed to personal and professional growth. We kicked off this mission oh-so-fabulously with some of our fellow planner girlies and it affirmed more than we knew--there is a very strong need to connect and share our experiences in our community.

Roost is an event space in the heart of the city and it provided the perfect ambience for the evening. We love the modern aesthetic and open floorplan at this venue. Not to mention it's very on brand--we are forever in love with black and white! We went back and forth about what the look of the event should be and of course decided the styling should be consistent with our brand--modern, meaningful, chic, and elevated.

Contrast vs monochromatic. The state of being strikingly different is the beauty of black and white. The softness of one against the sharpness of the other. Yet when just one of those colors is layered to stand alone, it's really special! We played on these two design concepts throughout from the gorgeous dramatic white blooms by May Chester against the black wall and black soft seating from Eventioneers to the custom 24ft half and half dining table by Vastmade. The mood was set just right with EF Lighting. We're girly girls, of course we sprinkled little bow details in! It was a big vibe and we are just so obsessed with all of the details captured beyond perfection by Lex King!

We typically don't slide in DMs but we heard it's a thing so that's how we decided to ask the girls out on a date. Once they confirmed their attendance we gave each guest an attire request. To build anticipation and add to the mystery, we didn't share any other information about the evening. It was a first date for some and in a lot of ways a blind date for all! It's a little pressure hosting ladies who love details as much as you. The planner girlies know how to slay. Everyone showed up beautifully and brought the room to life with their look and amazing energy!

Giving the girlies pretty deets was a must but we were super intentional on how we wanted to entertain and engage. This was an evening to let our hair down and just celebrate how far we've all come in our own unique journey. Virginia Lynn Co. sketched the guests in their fab looks, we created a collective reel with Post Script Productions, and we had some photobooth fun with Lux Photobooth. We kicked off with a quick toast before the ladies found their seats at the dining table. We opened with introductions but also sharing manifestations that resignated.

Since we were on a blind date we might as well blind dine!! We surprised the ladies with a blind dining experience and Roost nailed it!! Blindfolds on please. The courses were paired with wine and plates left the table empty. The chef did an amazing job including the dietary restriction requests--we highly recommend Roost for your next celebration! 10/10. In between each course we got to know each other a little better and played a fun hot seat game as questions went around and the conversation naturally flowed. We literally could of talked all night!

The intimate evening was full of style, beauty, fun details, authenticity, laughter, good tears, open minds, and open hearts. We all left inspired, with our cups full, and excited to build from here.

We are SO grateful to all of our creative vendors who partnered with us to provide a very memorable evening for some of the women in our wedding community in honor of Women's History Month.
